A Monthly Fee? – Sounds like a scam. You are welcome to pass this up. It would take you hiring a full-time person added to your payroll to sit in the back office glued to a computer just to find and maintain 200 links / per year coming into your website. These links cannot be pulled together by calling up 200 of your closest business friends in the auto industry who also have websites (and know how to make a link) and say: “If you link your website to our website I’ll do the same in reverse…” Nope! So called “exchanged-links” cancel each other out. Sad… But true.
The $40/$47 annualized/monthly fee covers site maintenance, site traffic monitoring, SEO Optimization and maintaining a minimum of 200 backlinks. Write one small check for the year and go about sercvicing your customers. We will do the rest. We will maintain your dynamic, customer-fetching, marketing website that, for many small businesses is the heart of your business-marketing.
A maintained website is two day’s salary for a good Sales Manager. Or, if you’ve never had a sales person on your payroll consider what many are STILL paying today for a big paper doorstop! Are you still paying $1,000 per month for a yellow page ad? $40 per month is quite the bargain considering anyone on the planet can find you.
To keep your site ahead of –or– in competition with all your competitors, your site will be monitored and SEO optimized to keep it fighting for the top positions in organic searches (i.e. FREE searches – not PAID Ad-Words). Furthermore, the site will have at least 200 legitimate backlinks connecting referral sites and blogs to your site. This will be crucial for the site to be in the top handful of results when your customers are looking for a repair shop locally and you want that shop to be YOU.
For Microsoft’s new Bing Search Engine “backlinks,” are absolutely necessary. How Bing ranks your website by one of MicroSoft’s executives:
“Bing website ranking is completely automated. The Bing ranking algorithm analyzes factors such as webpage content, the number and quality of websites that link to your webpages, and the relevance of your website’s content to keywords. The algorithm is complex and is never human-mediated. You can’t pay Bing to boost your website’s relevance ranking.”
As for Google searches, the upcoming new release of their search engine which will be released this summer of 2010, Number and quality of legitimate BackLinks will also be critical. Businesses and webmasters who have not been developing necessary backlinks are going to have a rude awaking. Especially so for those oddball websites that currently are rating fairly well in some searches in spite of their funky design.
If you elect to go without maintenance, backlinks, SEO tweaking and tracking that is fine. We will simply stop monitoring your site’s performance and daily hits and we will remove the backlinks. Please understand, we are not doing so out of spite or as an “we told you so…” It is simply because we have to look at your site weekly if we are working for you. Then we have the big overhead on the 200 sites that we are directly linking to this Auto Repair Site: ICANN domain annual registrations (ICANN), and those pesky website hosting fees.
Consider that it costs $10 per site per year to maintain a domain name. It costs $84.00 per year for the web-hosting for every 10-12 of these backlink websites.
Website maintenance has always been an overhead for those who want to be found day after day 365/24/7. The sad reality is, that almost any local business website you can name including yours (if you have one) – most website(s) are virtually invisible! They are not “found” when a potential new customer is looking – searching for YOU!
You know this. You visit a lot of websites where you have to tanscribe the site address from your memory; from an invoice; or a bookmark/favorite you had to make – just to make less-frustrating getting to that website. Given that many of the Yellow Pages operations charge $200 / month for a “fake website,” where they have some 18-year old spend 20 minutes of ho-hum efforts for your “WEB PAGE” – and likely a crappy page on their site that has no long-lasting benefit for your business we hope you will understand the small overhead fee.
That said, you are welcome to just take your site and walk away without the maintenance and backlinks if you just need a website that matches the web address on your business cards and stationery. I wish I could convey the true value of a successful marketing program and it’s marketing-engineered website…
Side Bar – Do you have time for a personal story? I was the #0004 franchise owner in what is now a huge national franchise based here in Southern California. Think DHL or Roto-Rooter: Employees, Vehicles, a large territory.
Serious Franchise involvement and serious franchise oversight and accounting (you have to perform or your franchise is up for SALE – and their are lots of willing buyers with serious cash!) I had a profitable territory as the 4th guy – more than 1/2 of Orange County and parts of Los Angeles County: 32 cities! While you may not be a franchise owner, I suspect you are tracking with me; I suspect that you know the economic and social-standing of a handful of your competitors – right?
Let me continue… When I was at a fancy dinner at the Orange Hill Restaurant, Summit House, Balboa Yacht Club, or a 3-5 day event at a downtown hotel – there with the other franchise owners from CA, AZ, NV, OR, WA. I KNEW EXACTLY where I stood. I knew where most every owner lived. I had traveled to and then been in many of these fellow-franchise owners homes and business offices. As a near-founder I counseled many of these business people with their big-money start-ups, vehicle purchasing, employee hiring and employee training. I knew their private fleet of automobiles (and though it felt petty, I subconsciously compared their cars, trucks, boats and toys to my own). I knew how many vans in their franchise fleet and the numbers of their employees. I KNEW EXACTLY where I stood. And while I was doing better than a few, I envied many who were doing so much better than I.
Remember, this is a franchise! The territory’s are equally wealthy and have the same 6,000,000 residents. But others and their families were doing so much better. For the successful ones – Life Was GOOD. This was a franchise – there are no secrets. We all had equal success possibilities. We offered the same service at the same price. Once the customer called WE ALL had the same conversion ratio to a SALE!
